Uptrace Pricing Update — April 2026
Starting April 10, 2026, Uptrace prices will increase by ~15%. The new pricing will take effect on your next billing cycle after that date.
Why
Our hosting provider, Hetzner, has announced price increases of up to 36% effective April 10, 2026. The costs of hardware components — particularly RAM and NVMe SSDs — have risen dramatically due to market consolidation among a small number of manufacturers. Hetzner has also cited rising operational costs for their infrastructure.
We absorbed earlier cost increases (including new setup fees introduced in February 2026), but with monthly infrastructure prices going up across all Hetzner products, we need to adjust our pricing to continue operating sustainably.

| 500 GB | $50 | $50 |
| 1 TB | $102 | $102 |
| 3 TB | $199 | $230 |
| 5 TB | $332 | $384 |
| 10 TB | $622 | $666 |
| 25 TB | $1,255 | $1,408 |
| 50 TB | $1,909 | $1,999 |
| 100 TB | $2,499 | $2,999 |
| 200 TB | $4,023 | $4,101 |
| 350 TB | $5,260 | $6,093 |
Pricing for volumes up to 1 TB remains unchanged. For larger volumes, increases range from roughly 5% to 20% depending on the tier.
Metrics pricing change
At the same time, metrics pricing will switch from timeseries-based to datapoints-based. Metrics are billed per million ingested datapoints. Typically, each timeseries produces one datapoint per minute, so 1,000 timeseries over 28 days is about 40 million datapoints (1,000 × 28 × 24 × 60).
The exact number of datapoints depends on collection_interval in OpenTelemetry Collector or scrape_interval in Prometheus (both default to 1 minute). For example, with collection_interval=30s the number of datapoints per minute will double.
Datapoint-based billing lets you use different collection intervals for different metrics — collecting critical metrics more frequently while keeping others at the default interval. The minimum supported interval in Uptrace is 10 seconds.
